What it is

Uncook turns a long AI conversation into a clean handoff — a short, structured reboot prompt you can paste into a fresh chat to pick up where you left off, without dragging the whole history behind you.

You paste a public share link to a conversation you had (ChatGPT, Claude). Uncook reads it once, writes the handoff, and hands it back. You copy it. That's the whole thing.

Why we made it

Long conversations get heavy. Context piles up, the useful parts get buried, and starting a new chat means either losing the thread or copy-pasting a wall of text. A handoff is the opposite: the signal without the weight — just enough for the next conversation to know what matters.

Uncook does one thing — it gets what matters out of a conversation that has gone on too long. But “what matters” isn't the same every time: sometimes it's a prompt to carry on elsewhere, sometimes a document to send, sometimes one buried answer. So Uncook does that one thing six ways, one per situation — and nothing else.

A way out for every situation

• Handoff — for when a chat gets too long and starts forgetting the start, and you'd rather not begin again from nothing. It's a prompt built for the next chat: it carries the decisions, the constraints, the tone and where you'd got to, so a fresh conversation picks up at your level. You can't ask an AI to write one — it doesn't know what the next one will need.
• Merge — folds several conversations into one prompt. When the work got scattered across four chats over three weeks, this is the one thing here you genuinely can't do by hand.
• Digest — the same several conversations, turned into one document you read, not one the AI reads. Four threads — a trip, a budget, a health question, a side project — come back as a single plain-language recap you can keep or send.
• Brief — one conversation, made readable. What was decided, what's still open, what happens next, in language you can send or hand to a colleague.
• Scope — pulls one specific thing out of the noise: the code, the list, the final version of the text you rewrote nine times.
• Switch — moves one conversation from one AI to another. Not a whole-account export — the single project you actually want to take with you.

It also quietly shaped the rest of this site: pro, everyday, studying and writing aren't four topics — they're four faces of the handoff. Nobody ever needed a /pro/ page for a summary.
